If a light cigarette can be just as dangerous as a regular, why do they call them light?
Light refers to the amount of nicotine content within the tobacco. While that may only reduce the nicotine exposure, it does not change the exposure to the various tars present in tobacco smoke (mostly from burning the additives used to cure the leaves). It is the tar that is the most harmful to your health while the nicotine keeps you addicted.
